In the 12th minute, Fabiano Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 15 played minutes XV de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Gualter Maranhense. Fabiano Mendonça hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Nuno Leão was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Fabiano Mendonça capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fabiano Mendonça really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 28th minute, Giovani Veloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marquinhos Xavier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of João Augusto de Amaral's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Marquinhos Xavier came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by XV de Piracicaba's Enéas Brodel. But to his dismay, Enéas Brodel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano Mendonça in the 40th minute of play forced XV de Piracicaba's goalkeeper Nuno Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Paulo Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Marquinhos Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Enéas Brodel to make the kick off. Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Marquinhos Xavier successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 65th minute, Fabiano Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If João Augusto de Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, XV de Piracicaba's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe da Costa came free, but Nuno Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute, Pedrão Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nuno Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adriano Rosa in the 76th minute of the match. The supporters of XV de Piracicaba booed when Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guga Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Amílton Coelho, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Pedro Paulo Salles had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nuno Leão. XV de Piracicaba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro Paulo Salles was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. Giuseppe da Costa struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Nuno Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ. 92 minutes into the game, Pedro Paulo Salles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Nuno Leão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
