The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of 27 de Mayo booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clemente Castro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Douglas Viana. SORRISO E. C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as SORRISO E. C.'s Alberto Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Juarês Corrêa. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. Alberto Mendonças short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Juarês Corrêa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Juarês Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juarês Corrêa was a little too slow when Horácio Pereira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 3-0. Clemente Castro hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Alberto Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot. SORRISO E. C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Mendonça was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juarês Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, SORRISO E. C.'s Alberto Mendonça dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. Alberto Mendonças short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Juarês Corrêa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 35 minutes into the match, 27 de Mayo's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Mendonça came free, but Juarês Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Mendonça in the 37th minute of play forced 27 de Mayo's goalkeeper Juarês Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Alberto Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of 27 de Mayo booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Bueno didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Douglas Viana showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 45 minutes, Alberto Mendonça made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. 27 de Mayo's Juarês Corrêa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

SORRISO E. C.'s Alberto Mendonça got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 54th minute, Alberto Mendonça ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juarês Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. The audience was convinced that Alberto Mendonça's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juarês Corrêa was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juarês Corrêa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 85th minute, Clemente Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, Alberto Mendonça ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juarês Corrêa was frozen by the shot and now it was 11-0. There was no doubt that SORRISO E. C. were the better team. SORRISO E. C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
