Jhon Barcellos was slow to take the kick. During this time Palestra do Interior's players had a chance to rest. Palestra do Interior's Jhon Barcellos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Caetano Garcia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Caetano Garcia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafim Simão in the 12th minute of play. Caetano Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caetano Garcia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serafim Simão's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute Norberto Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caetano Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Joélson Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palestra do Interior's Hortêncio Mandrak was substituted for David Vale. In the 63rd match minute, S.E.R Corujão was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fábio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Caetano Garcia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Serafim Simão's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. The supporters of Palestra do Interior booed when S.E.R Corujão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandro Rosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio de Queirós in the 77th minute of play forced S.E.R Corujão's goalkeeper Caetano Garcia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.E.R Corujão's Caetano Garcia hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-11! After a rather tough play, S.E.R Corujão's Fábio Costa got a free kick in the 96th minute. The S.E.R Corujão fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Palestra do Interior were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
