Douglas Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui de Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Edu da Cunha hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Betinho Queiroz might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sílvio Antunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Betinho Queiroz ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of SORRISO E. C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of S.C. Ferrari:s goal. Douglas Viana had in the 38thth minute some difficulties stopping Edu da Cunha's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alberto Mendonça made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Alberto Mendonça made a precise shot to the right of Sílvio Antunes. S.C. Ferrari's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Ferrari were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after SORRISO E. C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Breno Ribeiro took the corner. S.C. Ferrari's Breno Ribeiro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Douglas Viana in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. For all the effort they put into the match, the S.C. Ferrari players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SORRISO E. C..
