Silvinho Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Hermes in the 3rd minute of play. 3 minutes into the match, New Joinville - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Hermes came free, but Silvinho Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Memphis Xande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dadá Neto lost his temper 8 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jundiaí -DMZ-! Roger Leme's late challenge caught a New Joinville - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Leme helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when Jundiaí -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 17 played minutes New Joinville - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Haroldo Tepedino. Xande Gol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 21 minutes, Xande Gol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Joinville - FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xande Gol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Silvinho Gaúcho made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Vivaldo Monteiro sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the New Joinville - FSCMZ defense, Vivaldo Monteiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvinho Gaúcho. The New Joinville - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvinho Gaúcho should have stopped the shot. Wilson Meireles hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the match, New Joinville - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Silvinho Gaúcho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vivaldo Monteiro. In the 47th minute, Xandinho Yamal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when Jundiaí -DMZ- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felippe Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilson Meireles to make the kick off. Olavo Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xande Gol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jundiaí -DMZ- made a substitution. In the 71st minute Dráusio Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jundiaí -DMZ-'s Marcelinho de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 80 minutes into the game, Dráusio Moura cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Silvinho Gaúcho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Haroldo Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. A collision led to New Joinville - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Róbson Travassos hit a great ball. Jundiaí -DMZ-'s Olavo Diniz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Jundiaí -DMZ- from getting a goal against them. 92 minutes into the match, Lucas Koehler had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvinho Gaúcho. New Joinville - FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucas Koehler was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Edmundo Hermes kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute of the match Memphis Xande shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Olavo Diniz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Marcelinho de Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvinho Gaúcho having to interfere.
