Jeremias Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jo Calleri in the 8th minute of the match. When Palmares Futebol Clube's Jo Calleri in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a defensive mix-up in Imbituba - FSCMZ's zone, Vicente Ferraz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Vale came out of the goal and Vicente Ferraz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeremias Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dário Moreira fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmares Futebol Clube's protests and gave Dário Moreira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 22nd minute, Dário Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Jeremias Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jo Calleri in the 24th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jo Calleri in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jeremias Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Joélson Madureira got a free kick in the 26th minute. Jeremias Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jo Calleri, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute, Luiz Fábio Hermes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Francisco Alagoano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Luiz Fábio Hermes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Francisco Alagoano made a huge save. Lino Souto hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Francisco Alagoano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Joélson Madureira made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jo Calleri during the 56th minute. The coaching staff of Palmares Futebol Clube protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and João Carlos Antunes had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. João Carlos Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Diguinho Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Jo Calleri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmares Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Jo Calleri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeremias Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Imbituba - FSCMZ support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
