The Reconquistense FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Argi should have stopped the shot. In the 21st match minute, Areco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Hodei to maneuver through the defense. After 37 minutes, Nicolas Ubendu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Areco FC and the Reconquistense FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Nicolas Ubendu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santiago Calvino did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-1 to the left of a surprised Vladimiro Oier 40 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Santiago Calvino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santiago Calvino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Areco FC getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Honorio Dominic hit a great ball. In the 60th minute of the match, Tomas Medero got a very nice opportunity to score, but Reynaldo Argi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Melchor Iztal hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Reynaldo Argi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Ubendu, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The supporters of Reconquistense FC booed when Areco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position.
