The referee ignored ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s protests and gave Honorio Egoitz a yellow card for diving instead. Honorio Egoitz kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Leonel Tomi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rafaela FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Tomi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodas Canillas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s Rodas Canillas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Tomi in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰'s goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Tomi came free, but Rodas Canillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Rafaela FC's zone, Felipe Bertin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. German Ourente came out of the goal and Felipe Bertin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 18 minutes into the match, Rafaela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Bertin came free, but German Ourente reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th match minute, ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Luzaide to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Rafaela FC's Cristo Llin got a free kick in the 25th minute. Rodas Canillas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonel Tomi went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 48th minute, Lino Luzaide left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ✰VILLA SARMIENTO✰ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After the first half Rafaela FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lino Luzaide to strike the kick off in the second half. German Ourente made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Bertin in the 54th minute of play.
