The audience thought a goal was coming when Ernesto Diaz got free with Guaberto Miliano in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Everardo Salvator came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Inter Miami CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Everardo Salvator couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Joseph got free with Guaberto Miliano in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 34th match minute, Berreta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atilano Gasteiz to maneuver through the defense. Guaberto Miliano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Diaz in the 45th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Everardo Salvator stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Guaberto Miliano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Joseph in the 55th minute of play. In the 61st minute of the match Berreta got a corner. Inter Miami CF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jose Chucho ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Jose Chucho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Inter Miami CF's Alejo Botello did a great save. After 65 minutes, Dante Joseph mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Berreta and the Inter Miami CF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 65 played minutes Berreta got a freekick which was hit by Dante Joseph. In the 67th minute, Ernesto Diaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emanuel Joseph received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Guaberto Miliano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Inter Miami CF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alejo Botello should have stopped the shot.
