Spectators: 152 (Terracing: 114, Seating: 35, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Amancio Magdaleno started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Amancio Magdaleno managed to get in a good position for a shot. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's supporters rose to their feet, but Amancio Magdaleno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ubaldo Ciceron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amancio Magdaleno, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. TALLERES's Ermegildo Llanos managed to work through NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ermegildo Llanos dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After 31 played minutes TALLERES got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Reynardo. After having played for 34 minutes, Aurelio Hitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aurelio Hitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the TALLERES defense, Aurelio Hitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ubaldo Ciceron. The TALLERES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ubaldo Ciceron should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Ubaldo Ciceron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Magdaleno in the 51st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 53 minutes, Ubaldo Ciceron successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Aurelio Hitz's late challenge caught a TALLERES's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aurelio Hitz helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to NEWELL´S OLD BOYS getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Aurelio Hitz hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Magdaleno in the 63rd minute of play forced TALLERES's goalkeeper Ubaldo Ciceron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Esteban Reynardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind TALLERES's goalkeeper Ubaldo Ciceron, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 78 minutes into the game, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Amancio Magdaleno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ubaldo Ciceron made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Ubaldo Ciceron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amancio Magdaleno in the 81st minute of the match. In the 90th minute Amancio Magdaleno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ubaldo Ciceron saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Caitano to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the match, TALLERES's Constantino Jakobe broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.
