The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Las Palmas's Horacio Sein nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Victoriano Nuno's late challenge caught a Club Sportivo Italiano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victoriano Nuno helped the player get up and apologised. Victoriano Nuno hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. After 14 played minutes Club Sportivo Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Fermin Torres. 19 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Italiano's goal looked a bit too open when Nicanor Fanuco came free, but Rafael Martino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Nicolas Urko was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Nicolas Urko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fermin Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Octavio Senio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Nicolas Urko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolas Urko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elvio Machado in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

After a rather tough play, Club Sportivo Italiano's Amadeo Oxel got a free kick in the 65th minute. Las Palmas's Fulgencio Tiadoro couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. Rafael Martino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicanor Fanuco in the 80th minute of play. Nicolas Urko made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Fermin Torres sent off a good shot on target. When Octavio Senio fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Sportivo Italiano's protests and gave Octavio Senio a yellow card for diving instead. Octavio Senio kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Elvio Machado came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nicolas Urko could save by the left post. After 91 played minutes Club Sportivo Italiano got a freekick which was hit by Sixto Roland. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Bazil in the 95th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Italiano's goalkeeper Rafael Martino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Las Palmas fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Club Sportivo Italiano were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
