In the 6th minute, Augusto Petrigai hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damian Marin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Frascuelo in the 9th minute of the match. The supporters of Characate FC booed when 17 de enero team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Petrigai didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 11 played minutes, Characate FC's Cristian Unai shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Prospero Matxin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Characate FC reached it. 14 minutes into the match, Characate FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Frascuelo came free, but Damian Marin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Frascuelos short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Damian Marin to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Characate FC's zone, Carlos Frascuelo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damian Marin came out of the goal and Carlos Frascuelo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Characate FC fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Characate FC's Matias Boniel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Gaspar Gora managed to get in a good position for a shot. Characate FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaspar Gora was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Prospero Matxin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Prospero Matxin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Venancio Pacorro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaspar Gora recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Carlos Frascuelo made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Characate FC got a freekick which was hit by Joel Fonda. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Baldomero Cristofol during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
