Eugenio Tome took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agustin Abastas. Agustin Abastas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Fecha Libre's Franco Armanca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lázaro Herrera in the 14th minute of play. Agustin Abastas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Tome, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valentin Elazar got free with Franco Armanca in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Severiano Ruy came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Fecha Libre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severiano Ruy couldn't finish the play. Eugenio Tome hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Granate defense, Daniel Tartalo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agustin Abastas. The Granate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agustin Abastas should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute, one of Granate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Granate. Granate's Agustin Abastas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Orland in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Leopoldo Emeterio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Agustin Abastas was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 79 minutes, Ismael Flores managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Granate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismael Flores was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Fecha Libre's Zeledon Orland ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Agustin Abastas. Agustin Abastas yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. Zeledon Orland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Zeledon Orland made a precise shot to the right of Agustin Abastas. Granate's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-9. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Fecha Libre had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
