Potrero's goalkeeper Javier Steven had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgard Sadurni. In the 5th minute, Serafino Geofredo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Franco Armanca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 16th minute Serafino Geofredo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Franco Armanca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javier Steven didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eugenio Tome went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute Eugenio Tome shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Steven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blas Donostia kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Franco Armanca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafino Geofredo went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 30 minutes into the match, Fecha Libre's goal looked a bit too open when Serafino Geofredo came free, but Franco Armanca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Potrero fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Alejo Nerio sped through Fecha Libre's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Franco Armanca. In the 39th minute, C. A. Potrero's Albino Cruz seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Albino Cruz the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C. A. Potrero protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Albino Cruz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The goalkeeper, Javier Steven, was totally fooled by Fecha Libre's Albano Betadur, who 42 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Eugenio Tome received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Javier Steven came out and tried to block the shot, but Eugenio Tome slotted it home off the left post making it 3-4 in the 45th minute. The Fecha Libre players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C. A. Potrero were winning 3-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zeledon Orland was the one to do the kick off. Fecha Libre's Franco Armanca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafino Geofredo in the 51st minute of play. Serafino Geofredo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Franco Armanca came out and tried to block the shot, but Serafino Geofredo slotted it home off the left post making it 3-5 in the 56th minute. After 62 minutes, Serafino Geofredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C. A. Potrero and the Fecha Libre players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fecha Libre booed when C. A. Potrero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serafino Geofredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franco Armanca made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alejo Nerio in the 68th minute. After a rather tough play, Fecha Libre's Severiano Ruy got a free kick in the 69th minute. Franco Armanca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niceto Lehior, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute Eugenio Tome shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Javier Steven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejo Nerio got free with Franco Armanca in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 89th minute, Cesar Gora hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugenio Tome took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Javier Steven. Javier Steven dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-5. C. A. Potrero's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
