Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sergio Laurgain kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Perrando in the 2nd minute of play forced Yaji FC's goalkeeper Candido Gudesteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Natalio Indar kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After 4 played minutes, Yaji FC's Haroldo Gorri shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Teodoro Eladio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Yaji FC reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Yaji FC's zone, Isaac Perrando stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Candido Gudesteo came out of the goal and Isaac Perrando tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Martin Palermo F.C. booed when Yaji FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haroldo Gorri didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 19 minutes of play, Martin Palermo F.C.'s Guido Orlo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Candido Gudesteo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd match minute, Yaji FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Chico to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd match minute, Martin Palermo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Santos Rocio to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Sergio Laurgain took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Teodoro Eladio to make any attempt to save it. Haroldo Gorri got his second yellow card in the match during the 33rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Haroldo Gorri hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 34th match minute, Yaji FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Oriche to maneuver through the defense. Candido Gudesteo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Orlo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santos Rocio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Candido Gudesteo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Candido Gudesteo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaac Perrando, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute, Santos Rocio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 44 played minutes Martin Palermo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Severino Loco. Teodoro Eladio was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Nunez Danel. When Sergio Laurgain came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Yaji FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergio Laurgain couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Sergio Laurgain's late challenge caught a Martin Palermo F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sergio Laurgain helped the player get up and apologised. Sergio Laurgain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Eladio having to interfere. Claudio Chico received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Teodoro Eladio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 minutes of play Martin Palermo F.C.'s Severino Loco was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Martin Palermo F.C. getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Severino Loco hit a great ball. After 90 played minutes Yaji FC got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Laurgain. Celso Frutos's late challenge caught a Yaji FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celso Frutos helped the player get up and apologised. Celso Frutos hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. After 94 played minutes, Yaji FC's Nunez Danel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Teodoro Eladio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Yaji FC reached it. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Yaji FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Martin Palermo F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
