The referee ignored El Fortín de Floresta's protests and gave Timoteo Sanson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pilar FC booed when El Fortín de Floresta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timoteo Sanson didn't get a good kick on the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Romeo Benvide showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horacio Jerano, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Manuelo in the 37th minute of play forced Pilar FC's goalkeeper Romeo Benvide to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, El Fortín de Floresta's Simon Baumar got a free kick in the 38th minute.
