Edgard Guillen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Valery, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 25 minutes, Angel Taurino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Candela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angel Taurino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Reyes got free with Inocencio Anaya in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Lucas Reyes took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Inocencio Anaya to make any attempt to save it. If Saverio Ermano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Angel Taurino came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the La Candela FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Taurino couldn't finish the play. La Candela FC made a substitution. Felix Iturri replaced Freddy Karmel. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leo Tome to make the kick off. After 63 minutes, Celso Nerio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Candela FC and the Charmander City players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, La Candela FC's Edgard Guillen got control of the ball when Leo Tome tried to sneak it across the goal line. Inocencio Anaya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Reyes, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Inocencio Anaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Reyes in the 85th minute of play.
