The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's zone, Ringo Bonavena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cayetano Dantae came out of the goal and Ringo Bonavena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 11th match minute, Sportivo Luan Toro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eleuterio Arlo to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Efrain Gil during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd minute, C.U.E. DE COMERCIO's Norberto Normando ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joaquin Mingo. Joaquin Mingo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Normando in the 26th minute of play forced Sportivo Luan Toro's goalkeeper Joaquin Mingo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to C.U.E. DE COMERCIO getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Alfonso Vachon hit a great ball. Oscar Martín struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Cayetano Dantae didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Luan Toro. Ivan Cordoba charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lino Gerazan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joaquin Mingo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tore-Andre Flø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dionisio Diaz charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Lino Gerazan might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cayetano Dantae. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. DE COMERCIO's Norberto Normando nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Mingo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Sportivo Luan Toro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
