Nicanor Pueblo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Laurendi having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Los Hornos's Juan Bautista got a free kick in the 9th minute. Emiliano Jeraldo lost his temper 12 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Nicanor Pueblo took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Epifanio Laurendi. Epifanio Laurendi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Los Hornos's Epifanio Laurendi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Pueblo in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Julián Alvarez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Sergio Nazario was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Epifanio Laurendi was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Nicanor Pueblo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nicanor Pueblo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abelardo Locaio during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Silvano Martxel's late challenge caught a Los Hornos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Silvano Martxel helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Waitakere F.C.'s Silvano Martxel got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 46th match minute, Los Hornos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aureliano Oroitz to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Nicanor Pueblo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Waitakere F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicanor Pueblo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juan Bautista to make the kick off. 66 minutes into the match, Los Hornos's goal looked a bit too open when Silvano Martxel came free, but Epifanio Laurendi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee ignored Waitakere F.C.'s protests and gave Mateo Marin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Los Hornos booed when Waitakere F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Marin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aureliano Oroitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Los Hornos players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Waitakere F.C..
