Jeremias Orzaize showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mendoza Vinuesa, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Jeremias Orzaize came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s Polo Bellogin. Jeremias Orzaize tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Polo Bellogin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jeremias Orzaize didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Urrutia Iruretagoyena went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Guerrero Freije hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. If Urrutia Iruretagoyena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeremias Orzaize took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guerrero Freije, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Vampiros Aztecas's Fabricio Gervaso got a free kick in the 59th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vampiros Aztecas's zone, Polo Bellogin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jeremias Orzaize came out of the goal and Polo Bellogin tried to chip the ball over his head. Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Mendoza Vinuesa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeremias Orzaize breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alessandro Rocafort didn't get a good kick on the ball.
