GUAYACO's Wilmer Villerias got a free kick in the 8th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 10 minutes into the game, when Ekaitz Azcaraso put in a rough tackle. After 11 played minutes Berenjenas de Punto Fijo got a freekick which was hit by Ekaitz Azcaraso. Hondo Iribarria took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yader Aramberri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Hondo Iribarria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víctor Urioste in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the match Yader Aramberri shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hondo Iribarria showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 45th match minute, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ixidor Herquinigo to maneuver through the defense. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Berenjenas de Punto Fijo made a substitution. Pepito Loza replaced Oro Villalon. The wind increased when Vela Garros made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ixidor Herquinigo in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Mejia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Yader Aramberri might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hondo Iribarria. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Yader Aramberri ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68thth minute of the game Mauricio Corias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. GUAYACO's Hugo Mejia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 70th minute, Mauricio Corias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugo Mejia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Víctor Urioste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Vela Garros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hondo Iribarria. That made the score 1-2 in the 79 minute of play. After some careless play in the Berenjenas de Punto Fijo defense, Vela Garros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hondo Iribarria. The Berenjenas de Punto Fijo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hondo Iribarria should have stopped the shot. In the 93rd match minute, C.A. GUAYACO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yader Aramberri to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th match minute, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paco Morquecho to maneuver through the defense. The C.A. GUAYACO supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing C.A. GUAYACO would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
