In the 5th minute Wade Olson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlín Almeyda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyrone McCracken was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Omar Zamora showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Kentucky Mustangs's Sal Whittington got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Capo de Provincia booed when Kentucky Mustangs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sal Whittington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kentucky Mustangs's Wade Olson got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sal Whittington hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Wade Olson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Sal Whittington ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Orlín Almeyda was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. If Sal Whittington had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sal Whittington made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Gabriel Dennison sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Orlín Almeyda threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Gabriel Dennison this time. Kentucky Mustangs made a substitution. Silas McNair replaced Sal Whittington. Chance Brewer made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gabriel Dennison. After having played for 75 minutes, Sergio Brieba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capo de Provincia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergio Brieba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kentucky Mustangs made a substitution. Willis Lockhart replaced Flint Landrum. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Capo de Provincia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Melvin Snyder was slow to take the kick. During this time Kentucky Mustangs's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Kentucky Mustangs's corner Melvin Snyder fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Orlín Almeyda quite easily take care of the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Chance Brewer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kentucky Mustangs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capo de Provincia the free kick. Chance Brewer kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. A hard shot by Melvin Snyder from long distance, 89 minutes into the match, got Orlín Almeyda's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Despite being the better team, Capo de Provincia failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
