With his leg Pierre Gamboa managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when Atletico Maturrango's Dei Ibarlucea fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 31 minutes into the match, Capo de Provincia's goal looked a bit too open when Eufemio Zugarrondo came free, but Pierre Gamboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eufemio Zugarrondo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eufemio Zugarrondo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eufemio Zugarrondo hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Capo de Provincia's attentive Uriel Jordan managed to snatch the ball when Kaxen Cuadro made a throw-in in the 41st minute of the game. In the 43rd minute, Hulberto Arias reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pierre Gamboa. The goal made the score 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Pierre Gamboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dei Ibarlucea in the 54th minute of play. With a little luck, Atletico Maturrango's Xuban Llave got control of the ball when Romeo Arriagada tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pierre Gamboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dei Ibarlucea in the 58th minute of the match. A collision led to Capo de Provincia getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Arnaldo Schiller hit a great ball. If Hulberto Arias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierre Gamboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dei Ibarlucea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnaldo Schiller hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Capo de Provincia's Arnaldo Schiller sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xuban Llave narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
