In the 12th minute Chesus Abecia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efren Centeno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Mazuste Monzonis fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Chamos FC's protests and gave Mazuste Monzonis a yellow card for diving instead. Mazuste Monzonis hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Joel Santillan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Rubio Muñiz fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jonas Abar, passed just outside the right post. Elia Candano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Abar having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Pelagius Trabeso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Chamos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Internacional the free kick. 36 minutes into the match, Internacional's goal looked a bit too open when Pelagius Trabeso came free, but Jonas Abar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonas Abar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pelagius Trabeso, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Chesus Abecia fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Chesus Abecia hit a great ball. Efren Centeno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Abascal in the 46th minute of the match. Los Chamos FC's Juanito Trapiella was substituted for Rubio Muñiz. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. After a rather tough play, Internacional's Lawrence Abechuco got a free kick in the 60th minute. After 63 played minutes Internacional got a freekick which was hit by Segundo Abascal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chesus Abecia got free with Efren Centeno in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Elia Candano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Chamos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Elia Candano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Abar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Manuelo Abarca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 minutes of play Internacional's Lawrence Abechuco was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Lawrence Abechuco hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Elia Candano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Abar having to interfere. 81 minutes into the game, Juanito Trapiella cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jonas Abar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 87 minutes, Manuelo Abarca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Internacional and the Los Chamos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Internacional supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Internacional would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
