Bilintx Abeijon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gerard Costa came out and tried to block the shot, but Bilintx Abeijon slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xalvador Teran in the 10th minute of play forced Internacional's goalkeeper Jonas Abar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gelacio Abechuco got free with Gerard Costa in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Internacional! Yoel Quilempan shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Markus Heredia during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Markus Heredia hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Anderlecht Huachipato booed when Internacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gelacio Abechuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Luis Abarca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xalvador Teran was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Gelacio Abechuco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Luis Abarca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Internacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Abarca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerard Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Valerio Escandón got a free kick in the 61st minute.
