The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when Cavaliers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustino Maule didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Gabriel Gallego sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anacleto Madaleno skillfully saved the ball. Cavaliers FC's Anacleto Madaleno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Mussoll in the 19th minute of play. Alvaro Sagarribay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Piearres, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 27 minutes into the match, Cavaliers FC's goalkeeper Anacleto Madaleno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Camacho Goiri. The audience thought a goal was coming when Franco Mussoll got free with Anacleto Madaleno in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st match minute, Inter de Guayaquil FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camacho Goiri to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Inter de Guayaquil FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vladimiro Aznar came free, but Alvaro Sagarribay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 33 minutes, Franco Mussoll managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franco Mussoll was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cavaliers FC's goalkeeper Anacleto Madaleno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Valiente Tebar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anacleto Madaleno having to make a save. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Marcelo Calenga hit a great ball. In the 38th minute Vladimiro Aznar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvaro Sagarribay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Cavaliers FC's Anacleto Madaleno got control of the ball when Franco Mussoll tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 43 minutes, Pedro Bieito mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cavaliers FC and the Inter de Guayaquil FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cavaliers FC's Pedro Bieito got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Anacleto Madaleno was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gabriel Gallego showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 46 minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Bieito to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Franco Mussoll had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anacleto Madaleno. Cavaliers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Franco Mussoll was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Cavaliers FC's Silvano Bautista was substituted for Pedro Bieito. After 61 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Camacho Goiri. Valiente Tebar scored 3-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anacleto Madaleno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Cavaliers FC's Maximino Cordarius got a free kick in the 69th minute. If Camacho Goiri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 played minutes Cavaliers FC got a freekick which was hit by Silvano Bautista. Alvaro Sagarribay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimiro Aznar in the 78th minute of the match. Valiente Tebar struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Anacleto Madaleno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de Guayaquil FC. After a rather tough play, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Maximiliano Sabando got a free kick in the 87th minute. Inter de Guayaquil FC's Alvaro Sagarribay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Inter de Guayaquil FC from getting a goal against them. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Inter de Guayaquil FC had played much better football throughout.
