After having played for 8 minutes, Valiente Tebar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Guayaquil FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valiente Tebar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Inter de Guayaquil FC's Franco Mussoll in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when Flames FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerrod Staples didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flames FC's Aimé Ham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Mussoll in the 18th minute of play. After 28 played minutes Flames FC got a freekick which was hit by Emile Garrett. The supporters of Inter de Guayaquil FC booed when Flames FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ty Lapierre didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Franco Mussoll's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aimé Ham was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Aimé Ham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franco Mussoll, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Franco Mussoll in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aimé Ham saved Flames FC from getting behind. In the 45thth minute of the game Gabriel Gallego who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flames FC's Aimé Ham was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Camacho Goiri hit a great ball. Hans Lavallée received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Alvaro Sagarribay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Franco Mussoll had several of the Flames FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 58 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Aimé Ham as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 62nd match minute, Flames FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emile Garrett to maneuver through the defense. After 63 played minutes Flames FC got a freekick which was hit by Ty Lapierre. Valiente Tebar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Aimé Ham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th match minute, Inter de Guayaquil FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Mussoll to maneuver through the defense. Camacho Goiri hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Franco Mussoll could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Aimé Ham made a huge save. With a little luck, Flames FC's Aimé Ham got control of the ball when Franco Mussoll tried to sneak it across the goal line. Inter de Guayaquil FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
