The Astillero del Guayas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Corozo Nevares should have stopped the shot. After 20 minutes of play, Stowe City's DeAngelo Guevara made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Corozo Nevares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Victoriano Fortuño kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Corozo Nevares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leon Hadley went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. If Dante Ham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juan-Angel Ordax kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Dillon Yoder showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victoriano Fortuño in the 35th minute of the match. Corozo Nevares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from DeAngelo Guevara, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Efrain Meruelo put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Astillero del Guayas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Stowe City:s goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victoriano Fortuño was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Stowe City's Lyle Dill got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 53rd match minute, Astillero del Guayas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xantalen Sella to maneuver through the defense. Dillon Yoder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Gayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rubin Lim's late challenge caught a Astillero del Guayas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rubin Lim helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th minute, Omar Gayo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Corozo Nevares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante Ham, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After 72 played minutes Astillero del Guayas got a freekick which was hit by Victoriano Fortuño. Corozo Nevares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Hadley in the 75th minute of play. Stowe City's Arturo Charles was substituted for Dante Ham. Stowe City's D.J. Harman was substituted for Rubin Lim. A collision led to Astillero del Guayas getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. In the 92nd minute, Xantalen Sella sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Stowe City's Dillon Yoder didn't even have to move. Omar Gayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dillon Yoder. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Omar Gayo ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match was over Stowe City could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Astillero del Guayas throughout the match.
