With an extended leg and a bit of luck Corozo Nevares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Corozo Nevares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Feliciano Abascal in the 81st minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the match El Pulpo Paceño got a corner. Astillero del Guayas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Inigo Abechuco ran over to the corner to take the kick. Corozo Nevares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Feliciano Abascal's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Astillero del Guayas's Corozo Nevares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Feliciano Abascal in the 92nd minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see El Pulpo Paceño lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
