Donatello Barajo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector-Luis Cadrecha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xeromo Agraña hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Mero Barbadillo's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Fabio Ponce - 1-0 was put on the score board in the 8th minute. When Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Juan-Carlos Otero in 12 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Fabio Ponce guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Fabio Ponce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vidal Ximeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blas Bolaños during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th match minute, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blas Bolaños to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Valle in the 16th minute of play forced Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goalkeeper Donatello Barajo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabio Ponce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ipar Monzonis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ximenez Cuellar kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Chalá Gamboa hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Ipar Monzonis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabio Ponce. Fabio Ponce yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Ipar Monzonis received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabio Ponce came out and tried to block the shot, but Ipar Monzonis slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 36th minute. Donatello Barajo came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's Hector-Luis Cadrecha. But to his dismay, Hector-Luis Cadrecha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Donatello Barajo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector-Luis Cadrecha in the 44th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Perlaza Corcoba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Club Dep. Soc. Rodo booed when Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xeromo Agraña didn't get a good kick on the ball. 52 minutes into the match, Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's goal looked a bit too open when Juan-Carlos Otero came free, but Fabio Ponce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Perlaza Corcoba came free, but Donatello Barajo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 56 minutes in the game, Perlaza Corcoba dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 66th minute, Hector-Luis Cadrecha reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Donatello Barajo. The goal made the score 4-3. After 72 minutes, Perlaza Corcoba mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato and the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Perlaza Corcoba kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. 74 minutes into the match, Ipar Monzonis notched a goal, 5-3, to the right of Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's Fabio Ponce. Fabio Ponce was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 76th minute, Sebastiano Macilla made a precise shot to the right of Fabio Ponce. Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-3. After a defensive mix-up in Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's zone, Vidal Ximeno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fabio Ponce came out of the goal and Vidal Ximeno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the match, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Valle came free, but Donatello Barajo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato's Perlaza Corcoba ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Donatello Barajo. Donatello Barajo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-4. Club Dep. Soc. Rodo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Lechero«ISTDG» Ambato for a fine match.
