Loja S.C.'s Zornin Calona couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 48th minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Norberto Buitrago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loja S.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Buitrago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexandre Marrodan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Lombera in the 66th minute of play. After 70 minutes of play Loja S.C.'s Zornin Calona was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
