After 6th play minutes Scott Souza shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Israel Bortzaioriz and just under the crossbar into goal. After a defensive mix-up in Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s zone, Scott Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Israel Bortzaioriz came out of the goal and Scott Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogelio Quintyn in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roosevelt Guthrie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kent Carney's late challenge caught a Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kent Carney helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Rogelio Quintyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rogelio Quintyn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roosevelt Guthrie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roosevelt Guthrie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Pelagius in the 22nd minute of play. Shawn Reyna charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Shawn Reyna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. El Canalla de Chicago's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Shawn Reyna in the 45th minute. When Vince Potts came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the El Canalla de Chicago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vince Potts couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Evaristo Pelagius made the kick off in the second half. Evaristo Pelagius who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Roosevelt Guthrie when he managed to save the team from getting behind. El Canalla de Chicago's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Rogelio Quintyn 54 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. After a rather tough play, El Canalla de Chicago's Joseph Marquez got a free kick in the 57th minute. Evaristo Pelagius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Roosevelt Guthrie made a huge save. After having played for 61 minutes, Kent Carney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Canalla de Chicago's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kent Carney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, El Canalla de Chicago's Shawn Reyna got a free kick in the 64th minute. With a little luck, El Canalla de Chicago's Roosevelt Guthrie got control of the ball when Evaristo Pelagius tried to sneak it across the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, El Canalla de Chicago's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Pelagius came free, but Roosevelt Guthrie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot by Javier Burutzagi from long distance, 69 minutes into the match, got Roosevelt Guthrie's attention. Evaristo Pelagius could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Roosevelt Guthrie made a huge save. Roosevelt Guthrie was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Evaristo Pelagius capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Evaristo Pelagius really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evaristo Pelagius got free with Roosevelt Guthrie in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s Israel Bortzaioriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommie Tipton in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of El Canalla de Chicago booed when Atletas Campesinos F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Pelagius didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atletas Campesinos F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
