Spectators: 159 (Terracing: 120, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) Justavino Cortez made the kick off and thus started the match. 3 minutes into the match, Brian Izaga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Quiñónez Louzara. FC Philotimo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Brian Izaga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. FC Philotimo's Quiñónez Louzara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Izaga in the 6th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brian Izaga in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Quiñónez Louzara saved FC Philotimo from getting behind. Quiñónez Louzara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brian Izaga in the 10th minute of play. Silvio Lastarria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Justavino Cortez in the 12th minute of play. If Brian Izaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Quiñónez Louzara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Magallanes. Anangonó Villabedon charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anangonó Villabedon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Magallanes booed when FC Philotimo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anangonó Villabedon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute, FC Philotimo's Justavino Cortez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Silvio Lastarria. Silvio Lastarria yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Quiñónez Louzara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brian Izaga's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Quiñónez Louzara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Brian Izaga went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herminio Quintero in the 42nd minute of play forced FC Philotimo's goalkeeper Quiñónez Louzara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Magallanes's Herminio Quintero got a free kick in the 46th minute. The FC Philotimo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Magallanes were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brian Izaga was the one to do the kick off. After 59 played minutes Magallanes got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Gamboa. In the 61st minute, Baldomero Gamboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the match, Brian Izaga dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Quiñónez Louzara, 1-3. 67 minutes into the game, Blandón Veladiez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Philotimo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Magallanes the free kick. After 68 played minutes FC Philotimo got a freekick which was hit by Blandón Veladiez. In the 72nd minute, Baldomero Gamboa reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Quiñónez Louzara. The goal made the score 1-4. In the 77th minute, Magallanes's Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Quiñónez Louzara. Quiñónez Louzara yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. 83 minutes into the game, FC Philotimo's Justavino Cortez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Silvio Lastarria made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-5. Quiñónez Louzara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Brian Izaga in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, FC Philotimo's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso came free, but Quiñónez Louzara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The FC Philotimo fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Magallanes were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
