After 31 minutes, Fortun Lizundia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Ibiza and the Magallanes players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelo Aracena in the 37th minute of play forced Club Ibiza's goalkeeper Sanson Ojero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ariel Almeyda's late challenge caught a Club Ibiza's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ariel Almeyda helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Magallanes getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ariel Almeyda hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maiorga Bolide got free with Silvio Lastarria in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th match minute, Magallanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Soriano Matamala to maneuver through the defense. Magallanes's Ruesga Chadwick was substituted for Angelo Aracena. After 71 played minutes Magallanes got a freekick which was hit by Soriano Matamala. Maiorga Bolide received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Silvio Lastarria came out and tried to block the shot, but Maiorga Bolide slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 72nd minute. In the 77th match minute, Magallanes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Jacinto Herboso to maneuver through the defense. If Ariel Almeyda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The goalkeeper, Silvio Lastarria, was totally fooled by Club Ibiza's Ruy Mestas, who 95 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 98 minutes into the match, Club Ibiza's goal looked a bit too open when Ruesga Chadwick came free, but Sanson Ojero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Ibiza's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
