After a defensive mix-up in Hermosillo FC's zone, Jerry Maguire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvano Benat came out of the goal and Jerry Maguire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonel Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusebio Calvet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ursino Cabero hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. A collision led to Hermosillo FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Eusebio Calvet hit a great ball. Jerry Maguire succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 27th playminute. Hermosillo FC's Silvano Benat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Hermosillo FC from getting a goal against them. Zorros del Desierto's Leonel Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebio Calvet in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th match minute, Hermosillo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Lizar to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nino Maravilha got free with Silvano Benat in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 39 minutes into the match, Jerry Maguire dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Silvano Benat, 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nino Maravilha made a kick off. The supporters of Hermosillo FC booed when Zorros del Desierto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damián Fouillioux didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerry Maguire took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvano Benat. Silvano Benat dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. After a rather tough play, Zorros del Desierto's Miren Bacheler got a free kick in the 58th minute. After 66 played minutes Zorros del Desierto got a freekick which was hit by Ursino Cabero.
