Inter de Chillán's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Isaias Fuertehijar scored to the left of an out of position Odón Mackenzie, making the score, 1-1. Honesto Remon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Odón Mackenzie came out and tried to block the shot, but Honesto Remon slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 25th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

C.S.D Punta Ballena's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
