The corner led CRUZ DEL SUR's Lorenzo Mella to fire away a dangerous shot which Pacifico Cezuago despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, CRUZ DEL SUR's goal looked a bit too open when Ysidro Elorriaga came free, but Godofredo Mac Intyre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Sisebuto Matetich fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CRUZ DEL SUR's protests and gave Sisebuto Matetich a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Sociedad Anónima's Ubarna Huertas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Godofredo Mac Intyre. Godofredo Mac Intyre yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Louis Artime during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of CRUZ DEL SUR booed when Sociedad Anónima was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louis Artime didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Ignacio Berguecio in the 27th minute of play forced Sociedad Anónima's goalkeeper Pacifico Cezuago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jairo Canado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Erauso Bustelo took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Godofredo Mac Intyre to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ubarna Huertas to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to CRUZ DEL SUR getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Xulián Artaño hit a great ball. Pacifico Cezuago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Ignacio Berguecio in the 57th minute of the match. Sociedad Anónima's Christiano Planes got his second yellow card of the match in the 60th minute. The referee ordered Christiano Planes off the ground. In the 61st minute, Christiano Planes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 63 minutes, José Ignacio Berguecio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CRUZ DEL SUR's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Ignacio Berguecio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd minute, Ysidro Elorriaga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Godofredo Mac Intyre was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Juan Manuel Vlahovic managed to get in a good position for a shot. CRUZ DEL SUR's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Manuel Vlahovic was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pacifico Cezuago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Podador Arraño kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Pacifico Cezuago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Ignacio Berguecio, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After a rather tough play, Sociedad Anónima's Goiz Cancela got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Olando Guardamino fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sociedad Anónima's protests and gave Olando Guardamino a yellow card for diving instead. Olando Guardamino kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Godofredo Mac Intyre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ysidro Elorriaga in the 98th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sociedad Anónima fans cheered their team off the field, for while CRUZ DEL SUR had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
