Teofilo Pardelas kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. AFC United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Teofilo Pardelas in the 12th minute. Martin Pasqua showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lalo Buenaga in the 15th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Martin Amenedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chivos de Punto Fijo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC United the free kick. In the 19th minute, Martin Amenedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After taking down the ball on AFC United's corner Teofilo Pardelas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Martin Pasqua quite easily take care of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lalo Buenaga in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Martin Pasqua prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 29 minutes into the game, Rosalio Azpiazu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chivos de Punto Fijo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC United the free kick. Rosalio Azpiazu kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Pedro Torrens made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Martin Amenedo sent off a good shot on target. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Martin Pasqua played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lalo Buenaga in the 33rd minute of play. Gabriel Gay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Donato Covillas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bela Gayoso's late challenge caught a AFC United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bela Gayoso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Chivos de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Bela Gayoso hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The supporters of AFC United booed when Chivos de Punto Fijo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Gay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Pasqua made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lalo Buenaga in the 59th minute of play. 63 minutes into the game, Gabriel Gay cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Pedro Torrens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ulizes Maquibar kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Donato Covillas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Ilazki Zumalburu was substituted for Paulino Alfebra. Chivos de Punto Fijo's Jeronimo Corrales was substituted for Gabriel Gay. A collision led to AFC United getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Donato Covillas hit a great ball. Martin Pasqua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lalo Buenaga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Chivos de Punto Fijo defense, Hector-Luis Conllas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Martin Pasqua. The Chivos de Punto Fijo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Martin Pasqua should have stopped the shot. Lalo Buenaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Martin Pasqua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
