Cable a Tierra's Edelmiro Eriz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Queirós in the 38th minute of play. Baltasar Gaitan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edvaldo Leal having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi Isac in the 44th minute of play forced Cable a Tierra's goalkeeper Edelmiro Eriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Joaquim Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SORRISO E. C.'s protests and gave Joaquim Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cable a Tierra booed when SORRISO E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Davi Isac made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Cable a Tierra's goal looked a bit too open when Zachary Cwynar came free, but Edelmiro Eriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edvaldo Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltasar Gaitan, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, SORRISO E. C.'s Bernardinho Freitas got a free kick in the 75th minute.
