A collision led to Red City Marrakech getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Cipriano Goren hit a great ball. Thami Klaasens scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Grzegorz Sitko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee felt a red card was in order, 21 minutes into the game, when Edries Mkhonza put in a rough tackle. When the match had been going on for 22 minutes, Red City Marrakech's David Bartoleme got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sizwe Bartlett. After a defensive mix-up in Union Transvaal's zone, Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sizwe Bartlett came out of the goal and Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Union Transvaal's Sizwe Bartlett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Bartoleme in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sizwe Bartlett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Vuyo Koen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Union Transvaal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Red City Marrakech the free kick. Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sizwe Bartlett came out and tried to block the shot, but Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 36th minute. In the 45th minute, Takalani Manyethela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Red City Marrakech booed when Union Transvaal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tristan Thaier didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Bartoleme made a kick off. In the 51st minute Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sizwe Bartlett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Bartoleme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 53 played minutes Red City Marrakech got a freekick which was hit by Nils-Åke Glanselius. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman in the 57th minute of play forced Union Transvaal's goalkeeper Sizwe Bartlett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sizwe Bartlett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sizwe Bartlett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Bartoleme in the 67th minute of the match. Red City Marrakech's attentive Cipriano Goren managed to snatch the ball when Joseph Nunes made a throw-in in the 69th minute of the game. Sizwe Bartlett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Union Transvaal's Sizwe Bartlett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman in the 71st minute of play. 73 minutes into the game, Claes Ahlfors was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Red City Marrakech's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Union Transvaal the free kick. Union Transvaal's Mawetu Thebile was substituted for Tristan Thaier. The supporters of Union Transvaal booed when Red City Marrakech was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claes Ahlfors didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sizwe Bartlett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 86th minute, Mawetu Thebile hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 88 minutes into the game, Joseph Nunes threw the ball into play from the sideline. Red City Marrakech's Cipriano Goren quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Sizwe Bartlett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red City Marrakech. In the 91st minute, Kanuni-Sultan Süleyman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the game, one of Union Transvaal:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. For all the effort they put into the match, the Union Transvaal players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Red City Marrakech.
