Hílton Munhoz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Flavio Phelipe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Munhoz having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Millonarios's Jonathan Aresti ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hílton Munhoz. Hílton Munhoz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Jonathan Aresti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dário Xavier hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. When Millonarios's Jonathan Aresti in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galo Junior's goalie prevented a goal. If Jonathan Aresti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lajos Toldi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeu Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After 37 minutes, Dinei Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galo Junior and the Millonarios players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, Millonarios was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atilano Matteo to maneuver through the defense. Flavio Phelipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Seco to make the kick off. Augusto Froila took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hílton Munhoz. Hílton Munhoz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Galo Junior's goalkeeper Hílton Munhoz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Phelipe in the 59th minute of play forced Galo Junior's goalkeeper Hílton Munhoz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th minute, Aldo De la Fuente hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lajos Toldi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Seco in the 61st minute of play. Flavio Phelipe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Millonarios's Jonathan Aresti in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 66th minute Jonathan Aresti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton Munhoz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hílton Munhoz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flavio Phelipe's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Augusto Froila hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, Flavio Phelipe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hílton Munhoz. Galo Junior's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flavio Phelipe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. 87 minutes into the game, Millonarios's Jonathan Aresti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hílton Munhoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Hílton Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Aresti in the 91st minute of play. Haroldo Camargo hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Jonathan Aresti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Millonarios's Flavio Phelipe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hílton Munhoz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Millonarios's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
