The Millonarios fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Millonarios's Flavio Phelipe looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lajos Toldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edvard Axelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 2-0 became the score in the 13th minute when Flavio Phelipe elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 19thth minute of the game Augusto Froila who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gästrike-hammarby's Esbjörn Alström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Flavio Phelipe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esbjörn Alström having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flavio Phelipe got free with Esbjörn Alström in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, Gästrike-hammarby's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Froila came free, but Esbjörn Alström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Millonarios's Augusto Froila slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Esbjörn Alström. That made the score 3-0 after 33 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Gästrike-hammarby's Robert Walroth got a free kick in the 35th minute. Millonarios's Carmelo Berenguer shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 36th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Esbjörn Alström but with some difficulty. Flavio Phelipe scored 4-0 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Esbjörn Alström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Millonarios booed when Gästrike-hammarby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rune Bennet didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Millonarios's Carmelo Berenguer tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Atilano Matteo in the 52nd minute of play forced Gästrike-hammarby's goalkeeper Esbjörn Alström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flavio Phelipe scored 6-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Esbjörn Alström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flavio Phelipe scored 7-0 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Esbjörn Alström, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 59 played minutes Gästrike-hammarby got a freekick which was hit by Konrad Tidéksson. Flavio Phelipe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Flavio Phelipe put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Esbjörn Alström. Esbjörn Alström didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Millonarios's Flavio Phelipe shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 9-0 in the ordered_time% minute. If Flavio Phelipe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 73 minutes, Josef Askstedt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gästrike-hammarby and the Millonarios players grew even worse after the yellow card. Josef Askstedt hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Flavio Phelipe took the ball and in the 74 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Esbjörn Alström. Esbjörn Alström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 10-0. 82 minutes into the game, Millonarios's Augusto Froila nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Esbjörn Alström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 12-0. Augusto Froila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Esbjörn Alström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esbjörn Alström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augusto Froila's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Augusto Froila in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Esbjörn Alström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Flavio Phelipe came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Millonarios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavio Phelipe couldn't finish the play. Millonarios's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
