The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Edvard Axelsson had several of the BeşiktaşJK's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 3 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Bican Turhan as he didn't even see the shot coming. BeşiktaşJK's Bican Turhan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save BeşiktaşJK from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Abdülhak Buğra managed to get in a good position for a shot. BeşiktaşJK's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdülhak Buğra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esbjörn Alström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the match, BeşiktaşJK's Songurbey Batıhan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esbjörn Alström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Abdülhak Buğra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Esbjörn Alström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, BeşiktaşJK's goal looked a bit too open when Konrad Tidéksson came free, but Bican Turhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute Abdülhak Buğra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esbjörn Alström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abdülhak Buğra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Esbjörn Alström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Abdülhak Buğra put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Esbjörn Alström. Songurbey Batıhan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Sacit Aydınalp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Esbjörn Alström. Gästrike-hammarby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sacit Aydınalp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 37thth minute of the game Konrad Tidéksson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BeşiktaşJK's Bican Turhan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half BeşiktaşJK were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Songurbey Batıhan struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Esbjörn Alström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BeşiktaşJK. Esbjörn Alström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdülhak Buğra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Songurbey Batıhan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Songurbey Batıhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esbjörn Alström having to interfere. Wiktor Fribäck hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, BeşiktaşJK's Hakan Sabuncuoğlu tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, BeşiktaşJK's goal looked a bit too open when Konrad Tidéksson came free, but Bican Turhan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Konrad Tidéksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Bican Turhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Abdülhak Buğra came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the BeşiktaşJK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdülhak Buğra couldn't finish the play.
