Augusto Froila struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Hílton Munhoz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Millonarios. 8 minutes into the match, Millonarios's goalkeeper Higinio Reno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amadeu Hoffmann. Dinei Reis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Higinio Reno. Millonarios's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The audience cheered when Dinei Reis's long shot passed Higinio Reno's right side. It was 1-0, 10 minutes into the match. Leopoldo Vidal kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Flavio Phelipe scored 2-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hílton Munhoz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flavio Phelipe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Hílton Munhoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Galo Junior's Jairo Freire got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Millonarios's Flavio Phelipe in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galo Junior's goalie prevented a goal. Hílton Munhoz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flavio Phelipe went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 42nd minute, Augusto Froila ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hílton Munhoz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 47th minute, David Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galo Junior fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Augusto Froila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Munhoz having to interfere. When Millonarios's Augusto Froila in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Galo Junior's goalie prevented a goal. Flavio Phelipe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 63 minutes into the match, Millonarios's Flavio Phelipe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hílton Munhoz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Flavio Phelipe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Millonarios's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavio Phelipe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hílton Munhoz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, Galo Junior's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Froila came free, but Hílton Munhoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Galo Junior getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Jairo Freire hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Flavio Phelipe notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of Galo Junior's Hílton Munhoz. Hílton Munhoz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Augusto Froila recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hílton Munhoz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Augusto Froila in the 81st minute. David Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Reno having to interfere. Carmelo Berenguer was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 95th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Higinio Reno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amadeu Hoffmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Millonarios players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
