Vasco Codina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rene Orlandus's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Aksu SK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Taci Özdilmaç in the 8th minute. 9 minutes into the game, Independiente de Quito's Santos Albarellos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vefa Hünerli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Independiente de Quito's Vasco Codina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Independiente de Quito from getting a goal against them. Independiente de Quito's Vasco Codina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene Orlandus in the 15th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Independiente de Quito's goalkeeper Vasco Codina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cenan Onat. Delgado Serantes charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Delgado Serantes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Independiente de Quito getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Delgado Serantes hit a great ball. If Cenan Onat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Independiente de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Orlandus came free, but Vasco Codina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Aksu SK fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Aksu SK's Cenan Onat looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anangonó Jaen to make the kick off. Devran Direnç took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vasco Codina. Vasco Codina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Vasco Codina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Orlandus in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Independiente de Quito's Diego Tiagonce got a free kick in the 56th minute. A collision led to Aksu SK getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Taci Özdilmaç hit a great ball. Cenan Onat's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vasco Codina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 62 minutes into the match, Rene Orlandus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vasco Codina. Independiente de Quito's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rene Orlandus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Rene Orlandus took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vasco Codina. Vasco Codina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. After a rather tough play, Independiente de Quito's Xanti Francia got a free kick in the 69th minute. Vasco Codina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cenan Onat, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 73rd minute, Cenan Onat made a precise shot to the right of Vasco Codina. Independiente de Quito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. Vasco Codina made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Orlandus in the 77th minute of play. After 78 played minutes Independiente de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Loco Surga. 83 minutes into the game, Ferrer Fito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente de Quito's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aksu SK the free kick. Ferrer Fito hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Aksu SK's Taci Özdilmaç couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Independiente de Quito. Vasco Codina came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Aksu SK's Rene Orlandus. But to his dismay, Rene Orlandus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rene Orlandus in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Codina saved Independiente de Quito from getting behind. In the 93rd match minute, Independiente de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeru Conti to maneuver through the defense. Vasco Codina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Numan Dilhan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 95 minutes, Ali Numan Dilhan made it 9-1 with a short kick to the right side. Independiente de Quito's Vasco Codina tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Aksu SK's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
