When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Roman Gdaniec put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Łukasz Fabiański. After 29 played minutes Azulgranas got a freekick which was hit by Sánchez Castruita. Łukasz Fabiański didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Everardo Atauri went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 79th minute Everardo Atauri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Łukasz Fabiański saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Berrios in the 81st minute of play forced Girona FC's goalkeeper Cristiano Aveiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulises Terroba scored 1-5 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cristiano Aveiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Everardo Atauri scored 1-6 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Łukasz Fabiański, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 91st minute of the match Girona FC got a corner. Azulgranas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iván Salgado ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Girona FC's Iván Salgado to fire away a dangerous shot which Łukasz Fabiański despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Azulgranas's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Alfonso De Pedro 94 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-7. Girona FC's Kepa Molina was substituted for Joaquim Lustosa. Girona FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
