Cveto Novinec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehat Kovaçi in the 3rd minute of the match. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Inocencio Paublo got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 0-1. 4 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Koper fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! Cveto Novinec had in the 8thth minute some difficulties stopping Horia Păuceanu's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After having played for 10 minutes, Mehat Kovaçi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cougars FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mehat Kovaçi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 12th minute, Mehat Kovaçi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cveto Novinec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehat Kovaçi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mehat Kovaçi scored 0-2 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cveto Novinec, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cveto Novinec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehat Kovaçi in the 22nd minute of the match. Mehat Kovaçi might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cveto Novinec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mehat Kovaçi ran back to his position shaking his head. Cveto Novinec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehat Kovaçi, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After some careless play in the FC Koper defense, Mehat Kovaçi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cveto Novinec. The FC Koper fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cveto Novinec should have stopped the shot. Cveto Novinec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehat Kovaçi, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Cougars FC's goal looked a bit too open when Slawomir Brysz came free, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cveto Novinec came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Cougars FC's Mehat Kovaçi. But to his dismay, Mehat Kovaçi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Mehat Kovaçi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cougars FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mehat Kovaçi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cveto Novinec breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cveto Novinec didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mehat Kovaçi went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. Mehat Kovaçi might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cveto Novinec. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mehat Kovaçi ran back to his position shaking his head. Cveto Novinec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mehat Kovaçi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mehat Kovaçi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Koper players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Cougars FC were winning 0-5.

FC Koper made a substitution. Manos Labrou replaced Istok Marinč. Arnoud de Pelsmakere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Slawomir Brysz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Koper's goalkeeper Cveto Novinec, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cougars FC were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after FC Koper's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Angel Morales took the corner. The corner ended in Angel Morales almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Koper's Cveto Novinec did a great save. Mehat Kovaçi in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Cveto Novinec, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. With his leg Cveto Novinec managed to avoid a goal in the 61stth minute, when Cougars FC's Mehat Kovaçi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Mehat Kovaçi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute Mihail Coșereanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoud de Pelsmakere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnoud de Pelsmakere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Slawomir Brysz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mehat Kovaçi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Cveto Novinec made a huge save. With a little luck, FC Koper's Cveto Novinec got control of the ball when Mehat Kovaçi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wladimir Herrera fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 82nd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. 91 minutes into the game, Ekaitz Sirvent was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Koper's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cougars FC the free kick. 90 minutes into the game, one of FC Koper:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cveto Novinec had in the 93rdth minute some difficulties stopping Steffen Gimlinge's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Chatziantoniou Xanthos's late challenge caught a Cougars FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chatziantoniou Xanthos helped the player get up and apologised. Steffen Gimlinge made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 95thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Cveto Novinec would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The crowd rose to their feet as Cougars FC's Steffen Gimlinge slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cveto Novinec. That made the score 0-7 after 96 minutes of play. The FC Koper supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cougars FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Cougars FC.
