Eric Păvăloae's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute, Eric Păvăloae ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucrețiu Sfetcu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costin Malcoci in the 11th minute of play forced Ninjas in Pyjamas's goalkeeper Emil Gabor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eric Păvăloae took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lucrețiu Sfetcu. Lucrețiu Sfetcu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 18th minute Eric Păvăloae shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Lucrețiu Sfetcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Păvăloae in the 21st minute of play. Ninjas in Pyjamas's Emil Gabor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Tunaru in the 22nd minute of play. Emil Gabor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valer Perișoară in the 23rd minute of the match. Eric Păvăloae blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucrețiu Sfetcu having to make a save. Eric Păvăloae recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lucrețiu Sfetcu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Păvăloae, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. With a little luck, FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Lucrețiu Sfetcu got control of the ball when Eric Păvăloae tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Eric Păvăloae's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ilie Răduleț was slow to take the kick. During this time Ninjas in Pyjamas's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Andrei Cosor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lucrețiu Sfetcu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Emil Gabor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Lechințan in the 46th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Adrian Nasta was substituted for Luca Lechințan. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eric Păvăloae was the one to do the kick off. When Ejvind Kirkemand fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's protests and gave Ejvind Kirkemand a yellow card for diving instead. 52 minutes into the game, one of FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Eric Păvăloae shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Ejvind Kirkemand was shown his second yellow card after 55 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ejvind Kirkemand hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Eric Păvăloae struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Lucrețiu Sfetcu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ninjas in Pyjamas. After a rather tough play, FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Adrian Nasta got a free kick in the 65th minute. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt made a substitution. Horia Chioreanu replaced Costin Malcoci. A collision led to FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Adrian Nasta hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Păvăloae in the 73rd minute of play forced FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Sfetcu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Horia Chioreanu could shoot a difficult shot in the 75th minute, which Emil Gabor however easily saved by the left post. When Ninjas in Pyjamas's Eric Păvăloae in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's goalie prevented a goal. When Eric Păvăloae came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ninjas in Pyjamas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eric Păvăloae couldn't finish the play. FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt's Silviu Latarețu was substituted for Valer Perișoară. Eric Păvăloae fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucrețiu Sfetcu having to interfere. Ştefan Istrăteanu hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Eric Păvăloae's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucrețiu Sfetcu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Ninjas in Pyjamas's Eric Păvăloae got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eric Păvăloae fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucrețiu Sfetcu having to interfere. A hard shot 96 in the game by Horia Chioreanu from a close distance when the talented Emil Gabor managed to make a qualified save. Ninjas in Pyjamas's players were relieved. Horia Chioreanu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Emil Gabor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
