A. Independiente got a corner. Angua FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eric Snowden ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Angua FC's corner Braulio Lopes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Farid Mondragón quite easily take care of the ball. In the 12th minute Xu Yun Quan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ladislao Osasun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Angua FC's Francisco Bidari got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 15th minute, Juanpi Sorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Calixto Landoff kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Farid Mondragón. That made the score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. Calixto Landoff who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Farid Mondragón when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Farid Mondragón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carolo Eufemio in the 24th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Carolo Eufemio notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón. Farid Mondragón was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. Independiente from getting a goal against them. Angua FC's Ladislao Osasun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 46th minute of play forced Angua FC's goalkeeper Ladislao Osasun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, C. A. Independiente's Qiu Fan Ran got a free kick in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Xu Yun Quan made the kick off in the second half. Farid Mondragón took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carolo Eufemio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Angua FC's Roberto Puch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Farid Mondragón narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Angua FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Braulio Lopes in the 56th minute. The corner led to Angua FC's Matias Venceslao getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Ladislao Osasun successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Carolo Eufemio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute of the match, Xu Yun Quan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ladislao Osasun saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 66 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Puch came free, but Farid Mondragón reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Farid Mondragón showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Puch in the 68th minute of the match. Angua FC's Ladislao Osasun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Angua FC from getting a goal against them. In the 71st minute, Sid Chadwick hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carolo Eufemio in the 72nd minute of play. Braulio Lopes made a great header on Angua FC's corner, it was just that C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón managed to reach the ball for a save. Ladislao Osasun was a little too slow when Sidney Forbes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 2-1. Farid Mondragón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roberto Puch in the 80th minute of play. In the 81stth minute of the game Carolo Eufemio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
