The audience was convinced that Paulo Enmanuel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Torcato Modesto was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atletico Lanus's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Carlos Fernández was slow to take the kick. During this time Formentera's players had a chance to rest. Aquilino Leguizamón could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Froilan Jacob made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 92 minutes, Froilan Jacob successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Club Atletico Lanus's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
